1.The following IRQ remain eligible for use with a NIC are
- IRQ3 = for COM2/COM4 or bus Mouses
- IRQ4 = for COM1/COM2
- IRQ10 = used for primary SCSI controller
- IRQ11 = used for secondary SCSI controller
2.(b.) the required result but only one of the optional desired results.
Because the server can be able to handle all the networks traffic it receives with reasonable response time and make sure the server won't slow down the network.
3.(b.) run a dedicated cable from the server to Bob's machine, and put him on his own network segment.
if he put the 8 bit NE1000 with a 32 bit NE3200 EISA card he may encounter problems. The problem is after being booted the server lets workstations net use to it and the server can see other servers though after a couple minutes and it completely loses contact with the network, this point are unable to network use to any other servers and an error message appearw/c cause workstations lose all contact with the server.
4. b. Remove all nonessential adapters and install the NIC then use whatever IRQ's are available to install as many of the other adapters as you can get working.
